2022 Teacher’s Day Appreciation Event---- To Master, with Love Speech by Master Hong Sheng

Ladies and gentlemen, good afternoon!

We all have the benefits of having a performance to watch every year on Teacher’s Day. Why should we celebrate and commemorate Teacher’s Day? Of course, this “holiday” does not mean that we should take a vacation, but it reminds us that the stability of society and world must have two foundations: one is the principle of filial piety to parents, and the other is the principle of respecting teachers and learning from them. 

However, in this generation of the 21st century, these two roots are out of balance. Therefore, we cannot expect people around us or people in other areas of the entire earth to restore these two fundamental principles. We can only rely on ourselves. We are also very pleased that every year, the Yi Jue Yuan Society has made great efforts to maintain the teachings of Teacher’s Day.

As I said earlier, the celebration of Teacher’s Day is not meant to be a holiday for us, but a reminder for us to practice filial piety and respecting teachers more deeply each year. The “Teacher Tao” is a way of learning, so both teachers and students should continue to learn. An educator and a learner must both have the right perception and the right opinion in order to bring each other up and grow in a reciprocal way. The society must rely on ourselves to practice the right principle of respecting teachers in order for us to be liberated from life. 

From an educator’s point of view, we do not forget that “a teacher is one who preaches, impart professional knowledge, and resolve doubts”. To preach is to explain and continue the true principle of nature. In the state of life that is presented according to the karma we have in many lifetimes, there must be a so-called skill that can operate with the fact of survival of human beings. So this teaching, the so-called  living skill, or in a broad sense, the theory of life in this world, these are the range of teaching. It is necessary to pass on such a skill so that we know what the right treatment to life is. In this world of reincarnation, although we are rewarded according to our karma and flow with it, in the midst of it, we can also transform our concept and have the methods to no longer perceive our life as a reward for sin, but as a view of creation.

“ Resolving confusion” is a sublimation of the wisdom of life. The reason why our existence in this world is unsatisfactory comes from our confusion. As long as we have the right path of study, we will certainly open up our wisdom so that we will be able to release from our confusion. In this way, none of us should suffer in this world, and we must be happy and content. Therefore, every year on Teacher’s Day, we have to remind ourselves once again how to create happiness and fulfillment for all sentient beings. We hope that all of you will be happy every year.
