Bonnie a Rabbit Passed Away in Paradise by Listening to the
Impermanence CD of Master Hong Sheng
On the evening of August 27th 2013, the eight-year-old cute Bonnie passed away at home, with no sickness and no pain. Before leaving, it had a clear mind and made its body cleaned. With the middle of the eyebrows against the wall and body lying on the right side, it went to a better place with the original sound of Master Hong Sheng.
Bonnie was born in a pet store. We brought it home for its stable characteristic. When it was young, it had been to Master Hong Sheng’s painting exhibition with us in Fangliao (a place in south of Taiwan), where it was purified by the original sound luckily. That sound would make a deep impression on its mind and never be forgotten. For our busy work, Bonnie was seldom taken outside after it was three years old. Instead, it soaked in the original sound of Master Hong Sheng 24 hours every day.
One month before it left, we took it to a vet because of the serious hair lost. The vet was so surprised that it could live such a long life. We found old Bonnie was very healthy after examining. The reason that made it seem to lose hair a lot was that its front teeth were too long to tidy the hair. The vet cut the front teeth short and told us we need to feed it some hard dry grass besides the easy-chewing fodder in order to help it grind the teeth.
On the evening of August 17th, I was surprised to find a cicada slough on the sofa near the balcony. That was a good omen so that I put it away as a souvenir. Unexpectedly, ten days later, Bonnie left the world peacefully. When we heard the news, my son Junjun burst into tears. I comforted him that Bonnie didn’t do anything bad in its life and under the nurturing influence of the pure original sound, it would go to a better place. We should give our best wishes to it. We felt happy to see Bonnie’s peaceful face after returning home. My husband Ruiqi arranged a small Buddhist sanctuary for it considerately and got some emery specially from the Guan Zhi Learning Center to put in its coffin, on which two Chinese characters “Buddhist Rabbit” were stuck. We chanted Amitabha for it in accordance with the Buddhist ceremony, hoping it could pass away in Western Paradise.
At that time I asked Bonnie in my mind if it had any wishes. It sent me the message that it would like to serve Master Hong Sheng a cup of tea, prostrating itself before Master Hong Sheng to beseech that it could learn from him in the future. How wise and sincere it was. I came to the figure of Master Hong Sheng immediately to serve tea and kneel down in adoration, feeling so grateful to Master Hong Sheng for his leading in countless lives that made our spiritual life of wisdom endless. Buddha is everywhere. In an instant, I felt the loving energy of Master Hong Sheng gathering together in waves from all sides, my heart full of happiness. Life and death are the most important things in our life. From the story of Bonnie, I am more convinced that the original sound is incredible.
I got Bonnie’s message this morning when it was cremated which read “having attained enlightenment this life. Next life, I would like to come to the world to help those who need help”. It made such a great vow. I believed it had made up its mind to head the way of Mahayana Bodhisattva.
Thanks for the caring and blessing of Master Hong Sheng. Although Bonnie was an animal, it could break away from Three Evil Paths, passing away in the Western Paradise by an in-depth edifying influence of the original sound. Thank Bonnie for proving us that the sound of Master Hong Sheng is precious. I should be awakened that the most profound takes the simplest form. I can’t have a befuddled mind and go forward without a right goal of life. Thank all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas for teaching me that on the way of Buddhist practice, we’d better keep our hearts be a purer one.

聽無住的兔子 往生自在
乖巧的邦尼已於2013年8月27日傍晚於家中辭世，享年八歲，無病無痛，離開前，神識清楚，還將身體舔舐乾淨，眉心頂著牆壁，右身側躺吉祥臥，在 師父上人的元和妙音中，壽終正寢。
回顧邦尼一生，在寵物店出生，因其沉穩的特質，而被我們看中，幼年時曾跟著我們到枋寮參加 師父上人的畫展，很幸運得到 元和妙音的加持與淨化，一歷耳根，永為道種。隨著我們事業的忙碌，三歲後的邦尼就深居簡出，除了元和妙音24小時薰陶外，甚少有其他的雜染。
上個月因為掉毛嚴重，帶去給獸醫看，醫生很驚訝邦尼這麼長壽，檢查過後，老邦尼還很健康，掉毛是因為門牙太長，沒辦法整理毛髮所致，便將過長的門牙剪短，並要我們不能只給兔子容易咀嚼的飼料，還要餵食粗硬的乾草以利磨牙，情況就會得到改善了。
8月17日晚上在陽台附近沙發上發現一個蠶殼，嚇了一跳，心想金蟬脫殼也是吉兆，就收起來做個紀念，不料沒多久，邦尼便安祥的走了。
當我們聽到訊息時，鈞鈞突然放聲大哭，我趕緊告訴他別哭了，邦尼這一生又沒做啥壞事，還比我們精進，每天不間斷的在音聲法門下薰習，現在牠要去一個更好的地方，我們要用正確的心為牠祝福才是。
回到家，看到邦尼的遺容，安然沉穩，甚是喜悅。瑞騏師兄很貼心的為牠布置了一個小佛堂，還特地跑去中心取了金剛砂，灑入邦尼的小棺槨，上頭還貼著父子倆用毛筆寫的「佛」「兔」二字。我們仿照念佛會的儀軌，為邦尼念佛，真心祝福他往生極樂國土。
當下我在心中問邦尼可有願望？邦尼開心的說他想向 師父上人頂禮奉茶，並祈請將來能在 師父上人會下學習。果然是有高度智慧的佛兔，我立刻起身到 師父上人的相片前奉茶頂禮跪謝 師父多生多劫一路引領，使我們的慧命永續。敬神如神在，霎時間 師父上人慈愛的能量，一波一波由四方匯聚而來，末學心中充滿無比的喜悅，為邦尼感到高興。
生死事大，看到邦尼這麼靈光，我更加相信音聲法門的能量不可思議。
今晨遺體火化時，收到邦尼的傳真：「今生修業已圓滿，來生乘願入娑婆。」發了這麼大的願，相信邦尼必定已決心往大乘菩薩之路行矣！
感謝 師父上人的加持照護，邦尼雖在畜生道成長，藉一門深入長時薰修之利，速脫惡道，往生淨土，光潔瑞相，為末學做了證轉。末學當有所警醒，大道至簡，不可雜心瞎練。
感恩 諸佛菩薩 大權示現，教育末學修行的心要越單純越好。
